Jammu(IANS) , 11 Feb 2014

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said Tuesday that the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) has been shaken by his government's decision to create new administrative units in Jammu and Kashmir.Reacting to the PDP stalling the day's proceedings in the assembly Tuesday, Abdullah said on Twitter: "Seems they (PDP) really are totally shaken up by our decision to create so many new administrative units which has been well received."

He also expressed his disgust at the ruckus inside the assembly in another comment. "Want to see shameful behaviour of elected representatives - check out the opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly standing on tables," Omar posted on his Twitter site.

The PDP legislators raised a hue and cry inside the assembly forcing speaker Mubarak Gul to adjourn the house for the day.A PDP MLA, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah who represents Tral constituency in south Kashmir, was injured in a scuffle with the marshals who were ordered by the speaker to take the agitating PDP legislators out of the assembly to restore order.Shah was later admitted to a hospital in Jammu. The PDP has said the new administrative units have ignored areas represented by the opposition and the announcement was made to improve the electoral prospects of the ruling National Conference-Congress alliance.PDP president Mehbooba Mufti told reporters outside the assembly that her party would not allow the normal functioning of the assembly unless justice is done to those areas ignored by the state government in its announcement of new administrative units.
