Minister for Cooperative and Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjay today called for widespread publicity of the policies, packages and other benefits given by cooperative banks to increase financial inclusion.Minister exhorted upon officers to rope in youth in schemes offered by the department so that they get employment by setting their own business units.Calling for widespread publicity at the grass root level about the schemes offered by the department, the Minister said due to lack of awareness many members of the cooperative societies get elected unopposed.He stressed on the officials to maintain close coordination and liaison with the people at ground level so that the communication is maintained and awareness is created about the schemes, and people especially youth are educated about the functioning of the department.Minister also called for organizing frequent workshops, seminars, talk shows and various other traditional means of communication, which will help the Government to communicate with the public so that more people get benefitted from the schemes.Speaking on the occasion the Minister also stressed upon transparency, good governance and modernization in cooperative society, so that people particularly in rural areas get benefit from it.On the occasion, Registrar Cooperative Societies, Bashir Ahmad Bhat gave detailed presentation about the activities of the department, besides highlighting future plans.Chairman JKCC Bank Mohinder Singh, Chairman J&K Cooperative Housing Cooperation VK Magoo, General Manager NABARD B R Patnaik , Additional Registrar Anjana Tikkoo , Joint Registrar Cooperative Societies Jammu Trishla Kundal, Directors and CEO of JKCC Bank, President J&K Cooperative Union Jammu Rajesh Sharma and Ex-servicemen besides other officials were present on the occasion.
