Congress has no road map to waive off farmer’s debt

Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday lambasted Punjab Congress for befooling the farmers of the state on the name of ‘Karja Kurki Khatam’ program. Addressing a press conference at Chandigarh AAP state in-charge, Sanjay Singh, Co-Incharge, Jarnail Singh, Member manifesto committee, Chander Suta Dogra and Vice President, Boota Singh Ashant said that Congress Manifesto committee Chairperson Rajinder Kaur Bhathal and Manpreet Singh Badal while addressing the media on Saturday have exposed the plan of Congress by saying that Congress would not waive off complete debt but the only loan farmers have taken from cooperative societies. The leaders said that it consists only 12% of total debt on farmers of Punjab.Sanjay Singh compared Congress tactic with that of Prime Minister Modi’s fake promise of getting black money from Swiss bank and providing Rs. 15 Lakh each to every Indian. He said that neither Manmohan Singh led Congress nor Modi led BJP government has implemented recommendations of Swaminathan Commission report to save the farmers of countryJarnail Singh said that as per the official record farmers of state have to pay total debt of Rs. 80,000 Crores to different lenders. 

The promise of waiving off Rs. 10407 Crores of Cooperative societies is just 12% of total debt on the farmers of state.Chander Suta Dogra said that Congress has no road map to waive off debt of farmers but AAP has already announced its plan while releasing Farmers and Labor manifesto. AAP will waive off the complete debt of farmers till December 2018.During Press conference, AAP raised the issue of harassment of farmers at grain mandis. The leaders said that the government is not lifting of the paddy since 16 Octobers in Punjab. On November 7 AAP will hold statewide demonstrations against the anti-farmer policies of Badal Government.AAP raised the issue of government order to get NDTV India off air for a day on November 9. The party termed it the ‘Blackest Day in the history of India’ and termed it direct attack on the right to speech and expression provided by constitution of India.
