Terming the ‘burning of Chitta Ravan” by Congress as mere ‘political drama’, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today accused PPCC Chief Captain Amarinder Singh for adopting double standards on the issue of drug menace in Punjab. Chairman of the Poll Campaign Committee and Sangrur MP, Bhagwant Mann said that Captain saved his nephew Majithia by opposing CBI inquiry against him in multi-crores drug racket and now is enacting drama of burning ‘Chitta Rawan’.Mann said that if Captain was serious about solving drug menace in Punjab then he should have supported AAP’s demand of CBI inquiry against Majithia for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore drug racket.Mann said that Captain should not forget that he was only one who opposed the CBI inquiry against Majithia when every Punjabi including his own party members were demanding it.

Captain even made fun of the then Punjab PPCC Chief Partap Singh Bajwa for demanding inquiry against Majithia, Mann said adding that Captain must apologize for supporting the one who is responsible for pushing youth into drugs.Mann sought clarification from  Partap Singh Bajwa and other Congressmen on whether Captain’s opposition to CBI inquiry was justified at that time? Mann said that there is a secret understanding between Royal Family and Badals to join hands against AAP, as both of the factions have already smelled their humiliating defeat in the upcoming assembly elections.Mann demanded that an independent agency under the supervision of Hon’ble Supreme Court must re-enquire the multi-crores drug case in Punjab. He said that after forming the Government, AAP would reopen the files related to Amritsar Improvement trust case.
