Expressing strong resentment over the rallies taken out by RSS in Jammu and Chenab Valley, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Wednesday said the move is aimed at nothing but to create a sense of fear and terror among the Muslims of the regions. In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said: “It is extremely unfortunate that on one hand, the organizers of such rallies are getting support of government, forces, and police while on the other, pellets are being showered upon the people holding peaceful protests. This is a sheer hypocrisy on part of the so-called government.” “If these rallies are for ‘self-defence’, then we are in more need of that as we are facing bullets and bombs by the hands of occupational forces. Fact is that these rallies are aimed at flaring communal tensions. Just a few months ago, women from a particular group took out armed rallies in Doda which created an atmosphere of fear among the Muslim population,” he said.

Shah said if women from any particular group claim of ‘self-defence’ even after getting support from state machinery, then Muslims are also entitled to do so. “The organizations working for women empowerment should take notice of such situation and initiate steps in this regard as precautionary measure,” he said. The DFP chairman asked the government to shun its “agenda of terrorizing Muslims”. He assured Muslims of these regions not to worry as the people of Kashmir are with them. “The present ruling dispensation only knows how to terrorise the people of Jammu Kashmir just to please its masters in New Delhi,” he said.Shabir Ahmad Shah in his message to people said: “Although the present situation is worrisome but as per natural law the tyranny and oppression has to end. We must go through history as see how small nations achieved freedom from mighty powers. We must not feel dejected but remain steadfast on our mission of achieving freedom from colonial rule of India.” (KNS)
