The US based Indian Muslim Relief & Charities (IMRC) organized a parallel session on Saturday, September 3rd on topic “How Social Justice Can Help Minorities’’ on the sidelines of 53rd Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) annual convention in Chicago.Social activist and Professor Vipin Tripathi and community leader, Nasir Chhipa spoke in length about the social conditions of minorities, the latest trend and way forward to achieve social justice for the minorities.The speakers also shared their insights on the culture of freedom, highlighting the need for a cultural renaissance in the midst of hate centric nationalism.On September 4th, an annual luncheon was organized, where former police commissioner of Hyderabad, AK Khan and President of ISNA, Azhar Azeez briefly spoke about “Navigating challenges, seizing opportunities, for equality, education and empowerment”IMRC annual luncheon is held every year on the sidelines of ISNA convention.
IMRC also facilitated nine persons for their valuable contributions to the community. Those who were awarded are, ex IPS officer Abdul Khayum Khan, Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana ,Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Vipin Tripathi, Dr. Farida Ghoghawala, Dr. Azazuddin & Nusrat Ahmed, Dr. Shaheen Sayeed and Dr. Ausaf Sayeed.Indian Muslim Relief and Charities (IMRC) has been working in India for more than 35 years to tackle these challenges and poverty through providing educational programs, healthcare services, medical support, emergency relief, and legal aid. IMRC is protecting minority rights through its social work programs, which provide justice and equality for the current and next generation.
