The Government today ordered the reconstitution of Apical Selection Committee of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar.According to an order issued in this regard, the Committee would be headed by Chief Secretary while former Director, SKIMS, Prof M S Khuroo would be the Vice-Chairman of the Committee. The other members of the committee include Secretary Health & Medical Department, Prof Kursheed Alam, HoD General Surgery, SKIMS, Prof. Samia Rashid, Prof General Medicine GMC Srinagar, Principal SKIMS Medical College/Hospital Bemina Srinagar, Director SKIMS, Soura Member- Secretary and Dean, Medical Faculty, SKIMS Soura Co-opted Member.The Apical Selection Committee shall be assisted by experts from outside the State generally two for selection of Professors, Additional Professors and one for selection of Assistant Professors and Associate Professors, Professor of SKIMS for selection of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Additional Professor.
