In response to Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Kashmir and his invitation for talks to ‘stake holders’ through social media, Civil Society and Traders Wednesday said that merely meeting a handful of Shikarawalas and government Imams is not going to solve any problem in Kashmir. They said that people of Kashmir neither want development and employment nor any favour from the government of India but they only yearn for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.Renowned businessman and civil society member Shakeel Qalandar told CNS that cosmetic and half-hearted measures from Government of India is not going to change the Kashmir situation on ground. “What the Indian Home Minister will get by meeting a handful of Shikarawala’s and ‘sarkari molvi’s’. There has to be a formal dialogue between government of India and the real stake holders,” Qalandar said.

Castigating State and Government of India for showing no remorse over the innocent killings, Shakeel Qalandar said that at a time when people of Kashmir are not allowed to hold peaceful protests and mourn the death of their beloved ones, expecting a fruitful dialogue and response from government of India is claptrap. “Government of India abused the three terms ‘Insaniyat’, ‘Jhumooriyat’ and ‘Kashmiriyat’. This government is following and believing in ‘Barbariyat’, ‘Haiwaniat’ and ‘Jabriat.’President Kashmir Economic Alliance Muhammad Yasin Khan said that instead of talking to fringe elements and mainstream politicians who are their own agents, government of India should talk to Syed Ali Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who are the real stake-holders and represent people of Kashmir. “We are ready to talk to government of India and visiting Home Minister provided he comes up with a blue print about the resolution of Kashmir. In Parliament they accept Kashmir is a dispute and in Kashmir they engage fringe elements to hoodwink Indian as well as international community,” Khan said. (CNS)
