Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir has directed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to expand its Search and Rescue Operations in Maharashtra's Raigad District beyond the present 15 kms to an area 30 kms downstream.Massive search operation by NDRF with other agencies continued on the third consecutive day today for victims of a bridge collapse across the Savitri river near Mahad in Raigad district. Officials said 22 bodies have been recovered and identified so far. Accompanied by Shri Anant Geete, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Shri Ahir visited the site of mishap yesterday. The two Union Ministers reviewed the Search and Rescue Operations at a meeting with the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, Officers of District Administration and the NDRF.Shri Ahir assured all possible help from the Central Government.
