The Delhi High Court verdict giving primacy to the Lt. Governor in the administrative affairs of Delhi has started a "new chapter in the politics" of the city, the AAP said on Friday."There should be a debate in the country about the role of elected representatives and the chief minister. There is no value of an elected government (in the high court order)," said Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh. The verdict has gone against the basic tenets of democracy, he said.Going by the verdict, the people of Delhi should be registering government-related grievances with the LG, Ashutosh said."I appeal to Delhiites to protest outside the LG's House for complaints regarding electricity, water, pension, corruption, etc., in Delhi," he said. The AAP leader said the LG failed to act against former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in respect of various allegations of corruption against them.

"The Anti-Corruption Branch is with the LG. Even then Sheila Dikshit was not arrested in the CNG scam. Jaitley was also not questioned for irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association which he headed," Ashutosh said. The AAP disagreed with the high court verdict but would abide by it until the apex court gave a ruling on the issue, said Ashutosh."We hope the Supreme Court will deliver justice as it did in the case of Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand," Ashutosh said, referring to the overturning this year by the apex court of the Centre's interventions in the two states.
