2 persons were killed and 7 more injured when an army party fired upon them in Chowgam Qazigund of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.A top police official told CNS that protesters resorted to massive stone-pelting on Army men who were busy clearing the road that had been blocked by youth near Chowgam bridge. The “Army party that was moving towards their camp stationed at Wuzar fired after being attacked by youth opened fire that resulted in the death of two persons”, the police official told CNS.A health official told CNS that Syeda Bano W/O Ghulam Hassan Mir and Showkat Ahmad Itoo S/O: Ghulam Hassan Itoo both residents of Cheirut Qazigund succumbed to their injuries, while 7 other injured were shifted to SMHS Srinagar and are out of danger.The injured have been identified as Basit Ahmad, Mohammad Abbas, Javid Ahmad Wani, Neelofar Akhter and Ashfaq Ahmad while the identity of two others could not be confirmed as of now.
