Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Telangana State Forest Development Corporation Ltd, Hyderabad, DK Pandey today called on Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Chaudhary Lal Singh and discussed various developmental measures pertaining to the State’s Forest Corporation.The VC briefed the Minister about working of the Corporations and the modus-operandi used by the State Government to run it in profit and suggested the Minister to procure Clonal Eucalyptus plantations in the State. He also gave a detailed presentation of the functioning of his Corporation and highlighted some of the initiatives taken by the Hyderabad Government.Later a meeting was also held with the Forest and SFC officials of the State which was attended by Principal Secretary Forests, RK Gupta, Principal Chief Conservator, Forests, AK Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, Kashmir, Deepak Khanna, Director Social Forestry, Suresh Chugh, Director State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) Suresh Gupta, and other senior officials of the Forest and other allied departments.The Minister on the occasion said that the Government is tirelessly working to strengthen State Forest Corporation (SFC) which would revitalize the Forest Department. He directed officials to work vigorously for bringing back the lost glory to the State’s Forest Department.  “We all have to work for making SFC a real example in the public sector. It is waiting for a great relief from the officials,” Singh told officials. He also directed the officials of State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) to procure one lakh Clonal Eucalyptus plants during the current year.The officials informed that Eucalyptus is a fast growing tree which is among one of the best species for agro-forestry. Clonal plants are vegetatively propagated plants from a single mother tree having most desirable genetic qualities.
