Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government was committed to providing the "best quality" medical and education facilities to the poorest in Delhi.Inaugurating the newly-built Ambedkar Medical College -- providing 100 seats in the MBBS course -- in Rohini area of west Delhi, Kejriwal said the AAP government developed 100 mohalla clinics which were more than the number of dispensaries that came up in last 60 years."Mohalla clinics are dispensaries. We opened 100 mohalla clinics in past one year which is more than the number of dispensaries that were built in last 60 years in Delhi. As many as 1,000 mohalla clinics will be ready in Delhi in the next six months," Kejriwal said, adding that Ambedkar Medical College was completed by the government in "just one year".Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal termed his government "Sabse Tej" (fastest) in the country for constructing schools and hospitals in the city in record time.Speaking in a lighter vein, Kejriwal said: "There is a television channel that claims to be the fastest. I don't know if it is the fastest or not but Delhi government is the fastest as it constructed a medical college in one year", evoking laughter and a round of applause from the audience.

The mantra behind the fast pace of work was due to the "honesty" of the AAP government which was not there with earlier governments, he said."Earlier projects used to get delayed because of corruption as officers and ministers were busy in unscrupulous dealings. Now this is an honest government and no one is taking money, that is why work is faster now," Kejriwal said.Stressing on the need to increase seats in all the government medical colleges in Delhi he suggested that the city should be developed into an "education hub"."With the addition of 100 seats of Ambedkar Medical College to the existing 1,000 seats in all the medical colleges in the city, there are just 485 seats for Delhi students which needs to be speedily increased," he added.
