Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad blamed PDP for disrespecting the mandate of the people, as it secured votes on the promise to check-mate BJP and keep it out of power in order to safeguard the special status of the State.Addressing a large public meeting at Kupwara today, Senior AICC Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad lashed out at the political opportunism of PDP which surrendered it’s political and ideological stand for the sake of power and thus hoodwink the electorate during elections on false promises and said that there is nothing common between the two coalition partners except sharing of power.

While he describing the policies of the RSS as a threat to the secular fabric of the Nation and the principle of unity and diversity, which is the basis of the strength of our pluralistic society, Azad blamed the Centre Govt of dancing to the tune of RSS. He reiterated the commitment of the Congress Party to strengthen the secularism and to defeat the communal and divisive forces in the Country who are posing threat to the peace harmony, unity and integrity of the Nation.Described the incident at Muzaffar Nagar, Udhampur and Dhadri as most unfortunate which were deliberate attempts to instigate trouble and vitiate the atmosphere of religious harmony and brotherhood in the Country and State, he cautioned the people of the State against the communal and divisive forces and asked them (People) to defeat the nefarious designs inorder to maintain the unity and integrity of the State and appealed the people to strengthen the bonds of religious harmony inorder to bring about peace for better development and overall progress.

Speaking on the occasion JKPCC Chief G. A. Mir blamed PDP for providing space to RSS in the State by backstabbing the innocent people of Kashmir. PDP for the sake of coming into power, betrayed the electorates on the pretext of keeping BJP out of power inorder to safeguard the Special Status of the State. He said it is the PDP which facilitated the establishment of the RSS in the State.Accusing PDP for complete sell out, PCC Chief said that despite being opposite to each other PDP BJP entered into coalition to rule the State by ignoring the aspirations of the people, besides leaving aside their ideological differences. The betrayal with the people will prove costly for the PDP and BJP.PCC Chief said that PDP is unable to face the electorates of Anantnag in the upcoming By Elections, as a result of the betrayal on the part of PDP with the people. PDP had secured votes to defeat BJP and to safeguard the special status of J&K, what message PDP has for the people of Anantnag in the upcoming By Elections, remains to be seen, PCC Chief questioned.PCC Chief further said that this is the right time for people of Anantnag to decide the fate of PDP which has backstabbed them after securing votes.

Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating law and order problem in the valley and elsewhere, PCC Chief castigated State Govt for the deteriorating security scenario in the valley and elsewhere. He said due to the wrong policies of the Govt, the security scenario has deteriorated to a great extent, which is a matter of grave concern.Speaking on the occasion MLA Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, MLC & G. N. Monga accused the Coalition Govt for failing address the basic issues of the people. They said Govt has completely failed to curb the rising unemployment, which is posing a big threat to the carrer of youth. Both the leaders expressed concern over the wrong policies and indifferent attitude of the Govt to the people and the issues concerning them.Among others who addressed the gathering included CLP Leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLA Vice President G. M. Saroori, MLC Mohd Muzaffar Parray, MLA Usman Majeed, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, Spokesperson Farooq Andrabi General Secretaries Shoiab Nabi Lone, Surinder Singh Channi, District President Kupwara Haji Farooq Mir, G.
