Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) has urged Punjab government to clear the picture on the status of Post Matric Scholarship funds. Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA said that Chief Minister, Punjab Sh. Parkash Singh Badal has stated that the center is not releasing the funds, while BJP’s minister and state president, Sh. Vijay Sampla has said that the Punjab Government has not submitted the utilization's end use certificates for the previous years resulting in delays. On the other hand, Congress leader Sh. Sunil Jakhar, has alleged the Badal Government that they have diverted the sanctioned scholarships’ funds for other purposes.PUCA requested the Government to clarify the actual position regarding the status of PMS Scholarship without any delay so the students, parents and colleges should come to know about the true facts Kataria questioned “What wrong unaided colleges have done that they are running pillar to post to get these funds released"  

PUCA, has also urged the Punjab Government to immediately release the Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) funds held up for the last one and a half years in order to bring out the unaided colleges from the huge financial crisis.S. Gurpreet Singh General Secretary, PUCA said that the unaided colleges are doing the job that govt should have done. Over 90% of the work of imparting technical education is being done by the private unaided colleges. He also said that because of these policies of the government the entire education industry is in deep trouble.Sh. Manmohan Garg, Finance Secretary, PUCA said that many entrepreneurs have borrowed crores of funds from the banks and this delay has resulted in many colleges have been declared as NPAs by the banks”
