Union Minister for Minority Affairs Dr. Najma Heptullah on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government, during last two years, has registered phenomenal achievements in different fields which have no parallels in the annals of history.The Minister was speaking at a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Thangsoo Sports Association in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Scouts and Guides here at Amar Singh College to mark the completion of two years of BJP government in Centre.Dr. Heptullah said that all promises made by the PM Narendra Modi have been fulfilled and a new era of development and peace has ushered in the country. She said that every section of the society feels empowered due to the various initiatives taken by the present government and all are contributing their bit in making the nation as the most developed ones globally.`The Union Minister assured that the problems faced by the minority children would be addressed at earliest, saying that new schemes and initiatives are being taken to ensure their overall development. She said that special provisions are being made for them in various sectors like Education, Sports etc.  

She further added that the Union Minority Affairs and HRD Ministry has given 80 lakh scholarships to minority students in various fields like Technical, Education and Medical education.Besides, minority children are being provided with the civil service coaching and so far five girls from such classes have succeeded in qualifying country’s prestigious exams, she said and added that Moulana Azad Fellowship for minority girls has also being introduced to give boost to girls education in minority.Referring to the PM’s initiatives to ensure women empowerment, the  Union Minister said that schemes like ‘ Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and other initiatives have helped a lot in empowering the country’s half of the population.Speaking about skill development initiatives of the Modi led government; Dr. Heptullah said that Union government has opened various skill development centres across the country, adding that  these centre, in Kashmir division, have been opened at Bandipora, Budgam, Baramulla, Srinagar, Anantnag and Ladakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Education and AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik also highlighted the achievements of the Modi-led government and said that focus of the educational institutions should be on imparting value based education among the students as well.

The Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh while speaking on the occasion said that the work done by the NDA led government during the last two years is historic. He said, “We have scaled the new heights of development in the country, be it economical, educational or sports”.Dr. Singh said that PDP-BJP government would try to replicate the good work done by the centre in the state as well by ensuring all round and holistic development of the state and that too on equitable basis.Referring to the inherent talent of the state youth, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the examples set by IAS toppers like Shah Faisal and Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan should serve as an inspiration for the youth of the state. He said that besides education, the valley youth have made their mark in the field of sports as has been proven by Team India cricketer Mr. Parvaiz Rasool.Besides, other dignitaries’, legislators Sat Sharma, Rajesh Gupta and Fayaz Bhat, Farooq Renzu were also present in the function.
