Law Minister for effective follow-up of court cases to avoid delayed disposal

Asks administrative secretaries to do performance appraisal of Law Officers

Minister for Law & Justice and Rural Development; Abdul Haq today expressed concern over the frequent personal appearance of administrative secretaries and other senior state government officials in the courts and called for rigorous follow-up of the cases in the respective departments.While chairing a high level meeting of administrative secretaries of various departments to review the status of cases, the Minister asked all the secretaries to regularly monitor the progress of the pending cases of their respective departments and if needed consult the Law Department for guidance.The meeting was also attended by Advocate General, DC Raina.Abdul Haq said stay orders in respect of developmental projects are required to be vacated immediately and for that the government needs to follow the cases effectively to satisfy the courts.He also directed officials to follow the court directions in letter and spirit and file timely responses and objections before the court to avoid adverse orders.The Minister also asked the administrative departments to give their inputs about the performance of concerned Law Officers.Minister also directed the officials to file appeals on time and asked them to make every possible effort to avoid unnecessary litigation.
