Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Housing & Urban Development and Social Welfare Ms Asiea Naqash has directed the departments concerned to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply besides launching proper sanitation drive around mosques and shrines to facilitate the people during the holy month of Ramadhan.She was reviewing the arrangements made by the administration for providing hassle free services to the people during upcoming holy month of Ramadhan.The Minister directed officials of PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Sehri and Iftar timings so that people don’t face any difficulty during the holy month. Officers assured the minister that the scheduled power supply will be ensured besides uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftar timings.

During the meeting Commissioner SMC, Bashir Ahmad Khan apprised the minister that the cleanliness and sanitation drive has already been launched by SMC and it will be ensured during the holy month also. Minister asked the SMC officials to replace defunct street lights at the earliest in the city.The meeting was attended by SE (PDD), CSO (SMC), JCW (SMC), Commissioner (SMC), SE PHE, and other officials. During the meeting, the concerned officials gave a detailed briefing to the minister about arrangements made in and around the mosques and Ziyarats.Later the minister also reviewed the functioning Swach Bharat Mission in the city. Minister directed the officials for strict implementation of the scheme within stipulated time so that city is made open-defecation free.
