Former Minster and MLA Amirakadal Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday took a review of the redesigning work aimed at a complete makeover of historic Pratap Park in Lal Chowk.The review meeting took place at Bukhari’s private office in Shiekhbagh wherein he impressed upon the representatives of executing agency to complete this project at an earliest for the convenience of public in general and tourists in particular.Bukhari said the landscaping of the Park was taken up as a part of a project for beautification of the city centre Lal Chowk. The former minister also stressed on the executing agency to go for plantation of perennial plant species with exquisite colours in Pratap Park which will have less annual maintenance. He also stressed on proper maintenance of the park to be ensured so that it emerges as an aesthetic land mark of Srinagar city.

Later while addressing a party convention at Natipora, Bukhari emphasized on the cadres to gear-up and strengthen the party at grass-root level. He reiterated his commitment and resolve to undertake every desirable activity in order to make Amirakadal constituency a model constituency in the State. The MLA Amirakadal said that his efforts are on to accomplish a comprehensive developmental plan to the satisfaction of people in his constituency. While taking stock of the ongoing works of restoration and up-gradation of infrastructure in Natipora area, Bukhari said that though some achievement has been made in this regard but the authorities need to accelerate the pace of work on the projects submitted by his office to them under various sectors. He assured the convention that there will be a marked achievement in all sectors including roads, health-care, education, power and recreation in Amirakadal especially in Natipora area in coming days.The convention was attended by all ward heads of Amirakadal constituency including Mohammad Ashraf Dar party Zone President Amirakadal.The former minister said that he has already proposed development of Hari Nambal Stadium under Special Area Development Programme (SADP) and an adjacent playfield at Khal on modern lines. 

Bukhari said that the community hall constructed in Rambagh at a cost of Rs. 165 Lacs has been completed and will be thrown open to public very soon.“I have already directed the departments concerned to develop and improve road surfaces in Natipora ward including Rambagh, Beigh Pora, Taj Din Colony, SIDCO lane and areas around Khal where we have provided drainage facility recently,” he said.Bukhari said that he has also asked the authorities to install lift dewatering facility at Khal without any further delay. “In Power development sector, I have taken up the issues of augmentation of LT/HT network in all wards of Amirakadal constituency where the authorities will address the local demands related to power on priority basis,” he informed the convention. While taking stock of Party’s membership drive in Natipora ward, Bukhari asked the party cadres to gear up and take measures to reach out to the people and strengthen the party at the grass root level.
