Minister for Rural Development, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq today said fulfilling dreams of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed regarding development of the state is the priority of the government.Speaking during District Development Board meeting in Kulgam, the Minsiter said commitments made by the former Chief Minister Sayeed during previous board meetings will be fulfilled on priority basis.The Minister said the district administration should prioritize works in district according to public importance so that projects are completed immediately and benefit locals as well.On the occasion the Minister asked Director Health to rationalize medical staff so that every hospital and medical centres have availability of doctors and other paramedic staff.The Minister directed Deputy Commissioner Kulgam to inspect water supply schemes in the district and prepare a comprehensive report regarding the same.Earlier Board approved Annual plan out lay of Rs 123.63 crore for district Kulgam for the current financial year comprising Rs 11.06 crore under regular schemes, Rs 85.91 crore as central Share, 8.25 crore as state share for CSS and Rs 18.38 crore as loan. Board also set credit plan target of Rs 582.61 crores under priority sector and Rs 47.75 crores under non-priority sector.

The DDC Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat gave power point presentation of the previous year’s achievements and informed   the Minister that there was overall expenditure of 98.28 % of budget allocated for the district in last financial year (2015-16).  He was informed that District Annual Plan outlay for previous  year was Rs 126.44 crore comprising of Rs 10.54 crore under Regular Schemes, Rs 15.70 crore under loan, Rs 87.23 crore under CSS and Rs 12.97 crore under state share for CSS.The meeting also   reviewed the action taken report on the decisions of the last  board meeting  and  took stock of sectoral ,physical  and financial achievements  registered in the District Plan 2015-16.The meeting was attended by Member Parliament Nazir Ahmad Laway, MLA Kulgam MY Tarigami, MLA Devsar Mohammad Amin Bhat, MLA Hom-Shalibug Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, MLA Noorabad Abdul Majeed Padder besides advisors of various boards.The Minister directed the officers that the board decisions should be implemented in letter and spirit as it acts as institution of empowerment for people, which should be strengthened.
