Chief Secretary, B R Sharma on Monday reviewed the Durbar move arrangements from Jammu to Srinagar here in a meeting with officers.The Civil Secretariat and other move offices will close in Jammu on 29th April 2016and open in Srinagar on 9th May 2016.It was informed in the meeting that trucks and buses have been deployed for ferrying official record and employees on 30th April & 1st May and on 7th and 8th May. In this connection, Chief Secretary directed putting in place all necessary measures to ensure smooth movement of durbar move vehicles.He directed that extra buses and trucks be kept available during the move days besides deploying adequate number of cranes, mobile workshops, recovery vans, medical mobile teams, ambulances along with necessary equipment and staff en-route to meet any exigency.Chief Secretary also asked representatives from BEACON to ensure good condition of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway especially at vulnerable spots.Arrangements have also been made for providing escort security to the employees and convoys carrying the official records.

Chief Secretary directed CA&PD to issue ration cards and temporary LPG connections to move employees for their Srinagar stay and to ensure timely supply of ration besides directing the concerned departments to ensure complete sanitation, availability of electricity and potable drinking water in all residential colonies of the move employees. Mr. Sharma also asked the concerned to inspect all employee residential colonies and ensure that necessary facilities are in place in every employee residential colonies/hotels.Besides he also instructed the PDD to ensure that there is no power curtailment in residential colonies especially on the day of arrival of Durbar move employees to Srinagar.Mr Sharma asked Estates departments to ensure that staff posted to address problems of electricity, water etc remains present in residential colonies and a complaint register and redress mechanism is put in place so that employees do not face any inconvenience.He also asked Health department to make arrangements for extending health related facilities to employees in or near employee residential colonies/hotels.Mr Sharma also directed the IT department to ensure that LAN/Internet connections in Srinagar Secretariat are fully functional well before the move offices reopen.Chief Secretary also gave instructions to reassess the security deployment requirements in employee residential colonies at both Jammu and Srinagar so that it is further strengthened.
