Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today visited border village of Dag Channi in Ramgarh area in district Samba to assess the damage to standing wheat crop due to short circuit.The Minister was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, SDM Vijaypur Rajnish Gupta, Tehsildar Ramgarh J K Sharma and concerned officers.It was informed that around 50 kanal of standing wheat crop has been totally damaged due to fire in the fields.  Immediately upon noticing the fire, the residents of village informed the fire services department. The spread of fire was controlled and fire tenders managed to douse the flames saving adjoining fields.

The Minister expressed his sympathy with the farmers whose crop were damaged in the fire incident. The farmers include Tarsem Lal S/o Sansar Chand, Ashok Kumar S/o Punnu Ram, Rani Devi W/o Pritam Lal, Piyari Devi W/o Bhagwan Dass, Babu Ram S/o Chanchal, Shiv Ram S/o Dheru Ram and Lal Chand S/o Bana Ram, all residents of village Dag Channi. He assured the farmers of all possible support from the government.The Minister directed the DDC to provide financial support to the farmers under the SDRF and Red Cross funds. He also asked the DDC to prepare a detailed report on the incident and submit it to Relief and Rehabilitation Department so that the farmers are provided relief against the loss to their ready wheat crops.Ganga also directed the DDC to ensure that 2 Fire tenders are stationed in the area during the harvesting season, one each at Ramgarh and Avtal villages.
