Reacting sharply on the General Budget presented by Modi government, Aam Aadmi Party said that more than the peasantry and famers committing suicide in the country, Prime Minister is worried about the Black-Money holders. Addressing a press conference at Chandigarh, AAP’s Punjab affairs in charge Sanjay Singh said that under the scheme ‘Save the thief in the budget’ the government has provided the black money holders a safe route to convert their black money into white by depositing its 45% part. He said that this is like giving the license to loot the country to Black-Money holders. On the other hand, the people are waiting for Rs. 15 lakh, promised to every Indian by Modi during his elections campaign.

Sanjay Singh said that BJP ruling states including Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Maharastra are on the top of Farmer suicide list in the country.

He said that Farmers of the country were under distress and were expecting that the Modi Government would finally fulfill its promise of insuring 50 per cent profit over input cost of agriculturists, but the government once again disappointed them. He said that while in opposition, BJP used to talk about implementing Swaminathan Report to set Minimum Supporting Price of the crops but now the party is running away from the issue. There is nothing in the budget that can make farming a benefitting profession nor has the government talked about helping the families of deceased farmer families.Talking about water sharing issue, Sanjay Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party stands by the interests of Punjab and Punjabis and if anything is against it, the party will oppose it. He criticized Modi government for talking stand against Punjab regarding the water sharing issue. He questioned that why the issue always pop up near the elections while nothing is talked about it after the government formation.AAP’s Punjab Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Punjab co-convener Durgesh Pathak and Legal Cell head Himmat Singh Shergill and Arjuna Awardee Sajjan Singh Cheema were also present during the press conference.
