Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening visited the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here to enquire about the health of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who is admitted there.Badal, 88, the oldest chief minister in the country, was admitted to the PGIMER on Friday night after feeling uneasy due to chest congestion and fever. He was kept in the hospital by doctors who advised him rest.The chief minister could not receive Modi and visiting French President Francois Hollande here on Sunday due to his ill health.All engagements of the chief minister for Sunday were cancelled.Badal, on Friday evening, was taken to a private hospital in Nawanshahr town in Punjab, 80 km from here, after he felt cold and complained of uneasiness.
