Minister Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga inspected the Jammu and Kashmir Government Arts Emporium at Mumbai and Kolkatta  and reviewed their functioning .The Minister who is also the Chairman of the J&K Handicrafts (Sales and Export) Corporation was accompanied by Managing Director Mr  I. H. Drabu and other officers of the Industries and Commerce Department.He directed the Managing Director for upgradation of the existing showrooms on International standards as the showrooms are mostly visited by Global customers.He directed to purchase of handicraft items directly from the Artisans and their Societies thereby eradicating the role of middlemen. He further instructed that the purchase of handicraft items should be centralized at Head Office and the branches will be augmented with the required stocks on their demand Mr. Chander Prakash stressed that the Corporation must sell its exquisite handicraft items through online and every effort should be made to computerized all the branches to reach out to the customers and Art lovers from across the globe. He assured that requisite funding shall be provided to the Corporation immediately to take-up this job on war footing.. He further re-iterated that all efforts will be made to streamline the functioning of the Corporation and make it more effective and vibrant.
