Condemning the killing of youth by a VDC member in Rajouri, State Congress Tuesday said that the incident has exposed Chief Minster Mufti Mohammad Syed’s claims of curbing the hooliganism and ‘goon Raj’.In a statement to KNS, vice President of JKPCC and MLA Sopore Haji Abdul Rashid Dar said that the state of affairs have gone haywire since Mufti took charge of the state.He said the Rajouri Incident should be an eye opener to those who believe in Mufti’s famous and misleading slogan ‘Bandook sai na Goli sai, Baat banay gi boli sai,’ and said that the actual slogan for the Chief Minster should be, ‘Rashan mili gi goli say’. Haji said that the state has been driven to ‘Jungle Raj’ where people are shot to death for seeking ration.The Congress Vice President also lashed out at Deputy Chief Minster Dr. Nairmal Singh for his statement on Jan Sangh. “This is the real face of Mufti-BJP alliance. Singh has admitted it now publically that they are the followers of Jan Singh.” said Haji Rashid, adding that Congress has been repeatedly warning of the evil designs of the present alliance which is aimed to harm the social fabric of the state.
Haji Rashid said that the PDP-BJP alliance is to further the RSS agenda in the state, he however, warned that Congress will protect the communal harmony of the state at any cost. Haji demanded a thorough probe into the Rajouri incident and a clarification from Chief Minster over his deputy’s remarks.Earlier addressing the party workers at Sopore, Haji Rashid Said that congress has been always working for the development and prosperity of the state and reminded workers about the people friendly initiative Former Chief Minister Gh. Nabi Azad took during his tenure.He said that the Azad created eight new districts in the state which saw a new beginning of the prosperity and development of the state.Haji Rashid said that even prior to Azad, the People friendly initiatives Mufti took during 2002-05 were only because of congress support and endeavor. He added, Azad Government in state and Congress Government at Centre made every possible effort to bring peace in the conflict riddled state.He said that it was disappointing when the process should have moved forward, it has taken the reverse gear due to wrong polices of the present day government. Meanwhile 15 PDP workers joined Congress on the occasion. (KNS)
