Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Power Development and Housing & Urban Development, Mohammad Ashraf Mir today laid foundation stone of transformer repairing workshop here at Electric Division First, Basantbagh to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakh.The Minister directed the officers for the early completion of the work so that the damaged transformers can be repaired in a shortest possible time, especially in the harsh winter months in the Valley.
Later, the Minister convened a review meeting on supply of power in Kashmir valley wherein he instructed the officers to take immediate measures to overcome unscheduled power cuts so that consumers do not face any difficulty during winters. He also directed for immediate repair of damaged transformers to provide succor to the consumers. The Chief Engineers of PDD and M&RE, besides all SEs, and Executive Engineers were present in the meeting.
