In connection with upcoming Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations, the District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today convened a meeting of officers to review the arrangements being made for smooth conduct of the sacred celebrations.The DDC reviewed arrangements being put in place to provide up to mark services to devotees at Hazratbal, Aasar- i- Shareef Kalashpora and other Shrines in the city.The meeting also reviewed the arrangements for Naqashband Sahib(RA) in view of Khoja Digar prayer.The District Development Commissioner was informed that adequate transport services to and from Hazratbal, uninterrupted power and water supply in and around shrine besides medicare would be ensured by the concerned agencies.

DDC also enjoined upon the Traffic Department to streamline the traffic arrangements to facilitate the devotees. He directed officers of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure sanitation in and around the Dargah Hazratbal and other Shrines.Mr. Lone was briefed that SRTC as well as private transport agencies would ply their buses on all routes of Kashmir division in order to facilitate the devotees to pay obeisance at Dargah Sharief during Urs days. Other government agencies like PDD, PHE, Health, SMC and other allied agencies apprised the meeting about their arrangements already finalized for the purpose.The meeting was told that CA&PD department has kept sufficient stocks of essentials including rice, sugar, k-oil and cooking gas available for the occasion.DDC said a joint control room has already started functioning at Dargah Hazratbal under the direct control of SDM.On the occasion, the Dargah Hazratbal Management Committee expressed satisfaction over the arrangements being made by various agencies.Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner also directed the concerned officers to make necessary arrangements for smooth celebrations of Christmas.
