Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan today inaugurated 6.3 MVA receiving station at Karihama, Kupwara.The Minister was accompanied by Minister of State for Industries, Commerce & Power Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Chief Engineer, PDD Bashir Ahmad Khan, MP Fayaz Ahmad Mir, MLA Kupwara, Bashir Ahmad Dar and other officers of PDD.The construction of receiving station was completed at a cost of Rs 268.52 lakh. The station has three feeders including Gushi, Deedikote and Poshora.The Minister was informed that the receiving station will benefit more than 15000 souls of 35 habitations in four villages.While interacting with the people at Karihama, the Minister said Government is committed towards good governance in the state and is working earnestly to come up to the expectations of the people.On tackling weather situations, Abdul Haq informed that control rooms have been set up in every district under the supervision of Deputy Commissioners. He said weather situation is constantly monitored.He said snow clearance machines have been kept ready to clear roads in case of heavy snowfall. He said government is also monitoring road conditions in far flung areas including Machil, Tangdar, Gurez and Karnah.
