Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Abdul Haq today said the State will be free from open deification by 2019.The Minister said this while addressing people after Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed inaugurated a bridge in Rooh (Ban-e-Nogam) in Anantnag district today.He said the department is assisting the people under Rural Sanitation Program to construct wet latrines and  simultaneously dry latrine structures are demolished.Abdul Haq said the Department is for the first time making judicious use of funds to create productive assets.Abdul Haq said the Chief Minister provided them a road map for the development of rural areas. He said under convergence scheme the Department is providing labour component to construct different projects of various departments so that works are completed at earliest.  

He said  MGNREGA funds would be also utilized to create productive assets in villages besides doing flood related works.Minister said besides special package, he has converged funds under MGNREGA and 13th Finance Commission for flood related works which has received a good response on ground. He said such works will serve the twin purpose of giving people the jobs under MGNREGA will protect the villages from floods”.Later, Minister visited Devsar constituency and directed officers to prepare plan for construction of a bridge connecting Kanchloo-Zadran . He asked concerned officers to construct road under MGNREGA in the village which will help the orchardists.
