A meeting of the Committee on Environment was held today under the chairmanship of MLA G.M. Saroori.Legislators, Mtr Shamima Firdous, Daleep Singh, Mr. Dina Nath, Mr. Neelam Kumar Langeh, Mr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Mr. Mumtaz Ahmad, Mr, Deldan Namgail and Dr Gagan Bhagat were present in the meeting.Detailed discussions were held on various schemes which are being executed by the Department with regard to environmental aspect.The meeting was informed that the Rural Development Department has constructed 56654 Individual House hold Latrine (IHHL), which are eco friendly, during the current year under Swach Bharat Abhiyan.

Saroori asked the officers to ensure due care of environment while executing different developmental works in urban and rural areas. He also stressed for proper utilization of internet facilities at CSCs in far flung areas He asked the concerned officers to ensure cent percent progress under plan proposals for provision of 100 days work to the labours working under MGNREGA and ensure that Rural Development Plan be finalized within 15 days.Secretary Rural Development, Mr. Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Chairman Pollution Control Board, Mr. Abdul Razaq, Chief Wild Life Wardan, Mr. Deepak Khanna, Director Ecology and Environment besides senior officers of Rural Development Department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
