Tangchatri inhabitants demand work on incomplete bridge

Inhabitants of Tangchatri in Kangan in district Ganderbal are agitated with the authorities over halting work on the bridge in their area.The inhabitants said that the work on the bridge was started many months ago by JKPCC, but the authorities have failed to complete it.They said only a single culvert has been completed till now. “Thousands of people brave hardships due to the lack of connectivity to their areas. We have to cross the stream by moving through its gushing waters,” Tariq Ahmad, a resident said.Disappointed by the pace of work on the bridge, the residents approached High Court that directed the government to start work on the bridge and complete so that people do not suffer.“But the authorities did not pay any heed to the court orders,” the residents said.The residents have threatened to launch agitation in Ganderbal district if the work is not started i=on the bridge.
