Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today inspected the ongoing developmental works being executed by ERA in Gandhi Nagar constituency.Senior officers of various line departments and Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) accompanied the Speaker during his visit. The Speaker took stock of the progress of ongoing works of Flyover and eight-lane road widening from Bikram Chowk to Convent School Gandhi Nagar and also inspected construction and renovation works of drains at Channi Himmat .He directed the officers to redouble their efforts and speed up the pace of works to ensure their timebound completion.
Earlier the Speaker convened a meeting to review the progress of works under execution by ERA .Chief Executive Officer, ERA Mr. Vinod Sharma apprised the Speaker about the status of ongoing works and also informed about the Multi-Sector Project for Infrastructure Rehabilitation in Jammu and Kashmir (MPIRJK) which is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the rehabilitation of essential infrastructure in the Urban and Transport sectors of J&K and also to build the capacity of the line departments. It was informed that the projects are underway in rural as well as urban areas of the State.He also briefed about the Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme (JKUSDIP) a Multi-tranche Financing Facility (MFF) to achieve enhanced and sustainable economic growth. The Speaker directed the officers of ERA to ensure that the works are completed within stipulated timeframe with strict adherence to the quality norms.
