Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir today reviewed the implementation of District Development Board decisions and the pace of all taken up developmental schemes besides, action taken reports on the Chief Ministers commitments in Kulgam.The Minister, who is also the chairman of DDB Kulgam, reviewed the sector wise physical and financial achievements registered in the District under District Plan2015-2016.He also reviewed the action taken by the concerned department for the implementation of the decisions taken in the DDB meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed recently.Member Parliament Mr Nazir Ahmad Laway, MoS  Forest, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr A.M. Padder MLA Kulgam Mr MY Tarigami, MLA, Homeshalibugh, Mr Ab Majid Bhat, MLA Devsar Mr Muhammad Amin Bhat, District Dev. Commissioner Kulgam Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, besides, Head of Departments, district officers and engineers attended meeting.

The meeting was informed that total outlay in the district for 2015-16 was Rs.126.44 cr and against an availability of 50.51Cr, an expenditure of Rs 36 Cr has been made in the district on various developmental activities.It was given out in the meeting that under R&B sector, Rs 1.22 Cr were expended out of availability of Rs 4.20 Cr. Under WBM 33.65KM were completed, 5.08 KM were macadamized, under BM plus SD 6 KM were also blacktopped in the district.Under health sector, against an availability of Rs 50.50 lakhs, Rs 12.50lakhs have been expended in the district. Work on new type PHCs has already been completed. Under JSSK, an expenditure of Rs 27 lakhs has also been made in the district.The meeting informed that under School Education, Rs 1.73 Crore were expended out of the available Rs. 3.20 Cr. Nine elementary school buildings and 28 secondary school buildings were constructed in the district.

Under MGNREGA, an approved outlay of Rs 35.61 Crore for 2015-16, Rs 26 Crore have been made available so far in the district, out of which 22.64 Crore have been utilized. In the MGNREGA, Out of 3926 taken up works, 2361 works stand completed and 1516 works are under progress in the district.The Director Health Services assured that PHC Laram Ganjipora ground floor shall be made functional by end of March 2016 and MCH hospital Kulgam shall be completed as per stipulated time and ensure settingup of blood blank in the trauma hospital Qazigund.

The meeting was assured by the concerned executing agency that Chawalgam Trout Farm will be completed within two months and PHE Filtration Plant at Hanger, Yaripora, will be completed by the end of January 2016.Mr.Mir directed the officers to strictly implement all the decision taken in the DDB meting to ensure better results under different state and centrally sponsored programmes. He directed the officers to submit the status report of the works listed by local legislators and cautioned the officers against any laxity in this regard and said that fulfilling public aspirations is the priority of Government.  He also directed  keeping a strict check over quality of works as every effort should be made to create sustainable assets catering to area specific developmental needs.The Chairman also stressed upon the concerned officers to achieve optimum results within set time frame for development of core sectors in the District. He underscored the need for paying focused attention to the improvement of road connectivity, drinking water, power supply, education and health care facilities equally across the district.
