The Minister of State for PHE, Forest, Animal Husbandry and Irrigation & Flood Control, Abdul Majeed Padder Wednesday said that sound policies and progressive reforms of government will usher new era of peace, prosperity and development in all three regions of State. He said present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is committed to holistic development of J&K and well knit strategy is being formulated for welfare and socio-economic upliftment of people.The Minister said this while addressing a public gathering at Pahloo block of Noorabad constituency in Kulgam district.Mr. Paddar said providing basic amenities including quality education, better road networks, adequate supply of drinking water, electricity and  healthcare facilities is among prime priorities of the government besides ensuring benefit of State and Centrally sponsored welfare schemes at the door step of people.On the occasion, the Minister visited Dardgund, Lanker Pombai, Kulshan Akhaal, Shahu Suchin and other villages of Pahloo block of Noorabad constituency and took stock of various developmental works.

Mr. Paddar announced Rs 15 lakh for the upgradation of Chathripora-Lanker Pombai road from his CDF besides Rs 10 lakh for construction of protection bund on Bani Nalla so that people of these areas are benefitted.The Minister also announced Rs 3 lakh from CDF for construction of protection bund near Imaam Bargah and upgradation of power transformer at Shahu Suchin.At Akhal, the Minister also provided Rs 3 lakh out of his CDF for upgradation of electric pole, wire and power transformer. He also gave Rs 4 lakh, 2 lakh each for fencing of two graveyards at Khulshan Akhal.Later, at Dardgung, the Minister addressed a large public rally and in response to various public demands announced Rs 30 lakh for various developmental works including upgradation of roads, drains, lanes and protection bunds in the area.Meanwhile, the Minister convened an officer’s meeting and directed them to ensure supply and stocks of all essentials and medicines besides proper functioning of health and educational institutions.Among others, the meeting was attended by officers of district administration Kulgam, R&B, Forest, Rural Development departments.
