Punjab Higher Education Department Promotes 24 Senior Teachers As Principals

Acceding to the long pending demand of the teachers, the Punjab Higher Education Department today promoted 24 Associate Professors as Principals. This unprecedented move was aimed at making an enabling education atmosphere in the colleges by filling the posts of Principals in the headless colleges besides giving a push to the promotional channel.Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Minister for Higher Education today in a function held at his office at Punjab Civil Secretariat, handed over recruitment letters to the newly promoted principal. All the principals were asked to give their options for the allotment of station as per their choice. Mr. Rakhra has directed Mr. A.Venu Parshad, Principal Secretary and Mr. T.K Goyal DPI (Colleges) to allot the stations to all the Principals as per their choice within one day.

Mr. Rakhra opined that now the colleges having regular principals would scale new heights by achieving academic excellence at various levels. He also extended greetings to the newly promoted principals and expressed hope that they will work with sincerity and dedication and would exert to become path finder for the younger generations by putting high ideals of morality and ethics. The Minister also exhorted the principals to appoint part time and guest faculty on merit and as per the academic demands of the students so that overall academic standard of higher education in the stat could be lifted.

The newly promoted Principals are Shubpreet Bhinder, Kusum Lata, Rajdeep Kaur, Vijay Kumar Khinder, Manjit Kaur, Savita Sharma, Dharmapal, Jasbir Singh, Poonam Jain, Harbans Lal, Jaswant Singh, Sukraj Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Surjit Singh, Shaminderjit Singh, Parvinder Singh (Botany), Parwinder Kaur (Economics), Parwinder Kaur (Home Science), Ishtpreet Kaur, Harminder Kaur, Nutan Sharma, Poonam Singal and Harjit Singh.
