On the directions of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today met the sufferers of village Slama Chak fire incident and took stock of the losses.Ten  cattle heads were charred to death and 28 others were injured in the devastating fire that broke in a cattle shed of two nomadic Gujjar families.The Minister was informed that the 28 cattle heads injured in the fire incident were being treated and their condition   is critical. He was also informed that the affected families suffered an approximate loss of about Rs.20 lakh.The Minister, while expressing sympathies with the fire victims, assured that every possible help would be provided to them by the Government.He announced that 10 buffalos on hundred percent subsidy would be  given to the affected families as a onetime exceptional . He also directed the Sheep authorities to provide two sheep units to the fire victims immediately.Gurezi also directed the concerned to construct two cattle  sheds for the fire victims.The Sub pisional Magistrate briefed the Minister that two room set residential quarters are also being constructed for the two families.The Minister directed the officers of Sheep and Animal Husbandry departments to ensure proper treatment of injured animals  including antibiotics, dressing and topical treatment.
