Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a high-level officers’ meeting here today to review the Disaster Management Plan.He also took review of preparedness to deal with the flood situations in future with the Deputy Commissioners of Valley through video conferencing and issued necessary instructions in this regard.The Divisional Commissioner directed SDRF and Civil Defense authorities to register their volunteers who can provide their services during emergencies.He also directed the concerned officers to register Boatmen and Shikarawalas along Jehlum and Dal Lake with their contact numbers and residential addresses so that during emergency their services are utilized without any delay.The Divisional Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners of the Valley to establish Emergency Operation Centres in their respective districts whileas Divisional Control Room will be set up at SIDCO Humhama. He also directed for deputing the Additional Deputy Commissioner of the respective districts to Div Com Office with bills of pending claims and proper utilization certificate of already consumed funds.
Dr. Samoon also reviewed the stock and supply position of ration available with the Department of CA&PD Kashmir.The Divisional Commissioner also directed all heads of departments to work in coordination so that better services delivery to the people could be ensured.Among others, the meeting was attended by the IGP of Civil Defense J&K, IGP Kashmir, Director Fire & Emergency Services, DIG Police, Principal Government Medical College Srinagar, Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir, Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Bandipora, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama & Shopian, Chief Engineers of PDD, R&B, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, UEED & ERA, Senior Superintendents of Police Srinagar & PCR, Director Health Services, Director CA&PD, Commissioners of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Director Metrological Department, Commandant SDRF and other concerned officers were present.
