To check the education level of the state, a meeting was presided by the education minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, in which 10 English teachers from each district were present. With them Dr. Cheema reviewed this year’s matriculation result in which around 80,000 students failed in English language.

Moreover, he drafted a questionnaire for the English teachers in which he asked the teacher to write down the reasons and suggestions regarding poor result in English. Meanwhile he had a face to face communication with the teachers for such a low result. The scan copies of questionnaire was projected on screen and Dr. Cheema directly discussed the questionnaire and answers that  teachers have mentioned , most of the suggestions and reasons given by the teacher was inappropriate like student belongs to poor families, vacant staff, students not willing to attend the classes etc. The answers by the teachers which was projected on the screen consist of many grammatical errors and low standard of English, which signifies that even teachers are not capable to give good lessons of English to the students. He concluded the meeting by saying that the teachers would be given proper training session regarding English language and appealed to the teacher for the cooperation so that the education level in the state may rise.
