To redress the public grievances and developmental issues of people living in far-flung and remote areas, a Public Durbar was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq at Machil, Kupwara.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Haq said that people have great expectations from the government and it is prime duty of government functionaries to fulfill all genuine demands of people.He asked the administration to be responsive to public issues and take adequate measures for early redress of genuine grievances of the people. He also directed them to expedite all ongoing developmental works in stipulated time-frame so that people are benefitted.
During the Durbar various deputations put forth their issues and demands before the Minister including improvement of electricity supply and drinking water facilities, repairing of roads, and cleanliness besides demand for adequate ration supply.The Minister gave patient hearing to all the deputations and issued on spot directions for early redress of all their genuine demands.Meanwhile, Mr. Haq also inspected High School Rang Payeen and directed for converting old Pancyahat Ghar premises into school playground.Later, the Minister convened a meeting with officers of district administration and directed concerned executing agencies for judicious use of funds and time-bound completion of all developmental projects so that people do not face any difficulty.Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, officers of district administration and large gathering of people were present on the occasion.
