Four suspected Bodo militants were arrested here on Saturday in a joint operation by Karnataka Police and their Assam counterparts, police said."On a tip-off about their presence in the city, a raid was conducted at their hideout and they were nabbed with the help of Assam Police," Additional Commissioner of Police P. Harishekaran told reporters here.In their mid-20s, the militants were identified as Sandan Basumatri, Naseen Basumatri, Jibal Nursey and Tomar Basumatri.Preliminary interrogation revealed that they came to the city a year ago and got employed at a factory in Peenya industrial area, Harishekaran said. The militants were later produced before a magistrate for transit remand for taking them to Assam."We have registered a case against the suspects and handed them over to Assam Police for taking them to their state," the police official added. This was the second incident this year in which Bodo militants were nabbed in Bengaluru. A top militant, Bikhang Basumatri, was arrested in January for his alleged involvement in the December 23 violence in which eight Adivasis were killed in Lungsung.
