Expert team to study aquatic life in Bujoo Nallah

District Administration Kathua today constituted an expert committee to study the cause behind sudden death of fish in Bujoo Nallah – tehsils Nagri.

Development Commissioner Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal constituted the team at a meeting of officers convened in this regard.ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, GM DIC Amarjeet Singh, XEN Irrigation, District Officer Pollution Control Board, AD Fisheries Kathua, AD Planning , Scientist Head Labs, State Board Analyst, EO Municipality, Liaison Officer Chenab textile mills were present on the occasion. The committee headed by ADC Kathua Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, and members General Manager DIC, District Officer Pollution Control Board, AD Fisheries, Project Manager SICOP and EO Municipality will investigate the matter and submit report within one week.

The DDC directed the committee members to visit the spot and report the detail findings and suggest remedial measures to safeguard the aquatic life of Bujoo Nalaah. Pollution Control Board was directed to take samples whereas GM DIC was asked to check whether industries are adhering to pollution norms and installed equipments for the treatment of effluent.The DC also called upon the PCB to check the status of brick kilns and submit the report at the earliest.Later, DDC also convened a meeting to review the progress under ration cards up-dation process of the district.ADDC Kathua Manmohan Singh, AD (CAPD), AD Planning (RD) were present in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that the process of addition of new families has been completed after the verification by the concerned Block Development Officers and Tehsildars. It was also informed that re-authentication process by PRI’s representatives is in progress.The DC impressed upon the officers to speed up the authentication process so that final roll can be submitted for final verification. He said a committee comprising of DC (chairman), ADDC, ACD, AD CAPD and ACR (members) will undertake the process of final verification before submission to the concerned authorities. He also called for computerization of the data and purification of the record roll for error free data.
