Sangla to become first village with sewerage scheme : Chief Minister

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that the Sangla sewerage scheme would soon be made operational and Sangla would become the first village of Himachal Pradesh to have this facility. While addressing a public meeting at Sangla in Kinnaur district today, he said that sewerage scheme for Sangla village was started during the last term of Congress government but the previous BJP government failed to start it. He said that the work on this scheme was complete and it would be started soon. Chief Minister said that State government was considering over giving TD rights to the tribal people of the State. The opinion and suggestions of common people were being taken and the decision would be taken accordingly. 

He asked the Gram Panchayats to check random construction of houses along road sides and ensure that all construction was done as per the guidelines of Town and Country Planning department. This would help in smooth operation of traffic besides boosting tourism activities. Chief Minister also directed to conduct survey for feasibility of irrigation scheme for Sangla from Kharogla khudd. Shri Virbhadra Singh acclaimed the efforts of district administration and locals in restoration and relief works in the time of natural disaster which helped in bringing back normalcy in the district in a record time. He said that State government had taken every care to provide support to the people of the district during natural disaster and development of the tribal areas would continue to get added attention. 

Lambasting the previous government, he said that corruption was at its peak during BJP regime and employees and labourers were tortured to extreme. He said that he had no personal differences with the BJP but it tried to pide the State on the basis of caste and region, which was not acceptable at any cost. He thanked the people of the State for overwhelming support and said that it was due to their love and affection that he became the Chief Minister for record sixth time. Chief Minister announced Rs. 20,000 to the students of GSSS Sangla who presented a colourful cultural programme on the occasion.Member of Parliament, Smt. Pratibha Singh said that State government was ensuring balanced and all-round development of the State with common man at its focus. She expressed her gratitude towards the people of Mandi parliamentary constituency for support in the by-elections.

Deputy Speaker and local MLA Shri Jagat Singh Negi said that Rs. 8 crore were being distributed to the affected people who lost their houses in the natural calamity. State government was providing Rs. 2700 per bigha for the loss to orchards and Rs. 3000 per bigha each for loss to the crops and land in the district. He said around Rs. 40 crore were being provided to compensate the affected people in the district. District Congress President, Shri Umesh Negi also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Chief Minister for giving added attention for the development of Kinnaur district.Gram Panchayat Pradhan Smt. Sarojini Negi raised the demands of the area while Up-Pradhan Shri Sachin Negi welcomed the Chief Minister.Vice Chairman, Cooperative Bank Shri Pitamber Dass, Member, Zila Parishad Mital Bindra, Advisor to the Chief Minister, Shri T.G Negi, Principle Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri V.C Pharka, Deputy Commissioner Capt. J.M Pathania, SP Shri Ajay Bodh, office bearers and representatives of the PRI's, Mahila Mandals, frontal organisations of Congress party and other prominent people of the area were present on the occasion.
