After the successful conclusion of voting in the third phase of elections, Chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah Monday thanked the people of the State for their ‘overwhelming support’ to his party in all three phases of the Assembly elections till now and said NC would treasure this mass support and leave no stone unturned to uphold the political dignity and political interests of Jammu and Kashmir.“I am humbled by the grassroots support that people have shown for National Conference candidates in the third phase as well and congratulate the people for choosing substance, honesty and transparency over lies and anti-J&K politics. I am also personally humbled by the overwhelming support of the voters in Beerwah and assure them that I will work for their welfare and their prosperity with utmost dedication and commitment. It has now become evident that National Conference is riding an unprecedented, historic wave of support across the State and I am certain that the people will choose National Conference in the remaining phases as well,” Omar said in a statement to KNS.
He asked the people of the State to continue being a part of a historic mission to safeguard the dignity, political rights and interests of the State by voting for National Conference in the remaining two phases of elections as well. “These elections are historic and the way the people of J&K have risen to the occasion is nothing short of heroic and historic. There were people who tried their best to fragment the voice of the people through proxy-ism and pisiveness but all such efforts of sabotage and polarization have clearly failed in all three phases of the elections,” Omar said.The Chief Minister said the enthusiasm in our cadre and the support of the people has silenced not only the armchair cynics but our detractors in the opposition as well. “National Conference has always emerged victorious at such crucial junctures in our political history and the 2014 elections will be another glorious chapter that represents the unconquerable bond that the people of J&K have with National Conference”, Omar added.
