Exuding confidence that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would form next government in the state with absolute majority, PDP senior leader and candidate for Khanyar constituency Muhammad Khurshid Aalam Sunday said the cases against local youth allegedly involved in stone pelting case would be withdrawn.Addressing a public rally at Khanyar, he said his priority in the constituency, if elected, would be to restore the dignity and honour of the people especially youth. “The traditional politicians have been exploiting this constituency. This is time for change and people have to exercise their right to franchise with caution as in ongoing historical elections the people are choosing their fate for next six years,” Aalam said.

He added that he would put his personal efforts in withdrawing the cases against local youth of Khanyar. “In case you (People) elect me to assembly, I promise you to restore honour and dignity of inhabitants. I will put my best efforts to withdraw the cases against our local youth, allegedly involved in stone pelting cases,” he said.He alleged that the sitting MLA of Khanyar constituency was enjoying Wazwan in Jammu when the local youth were being brutally killed by in police and paramilitary actions in 2008 and 2010. “Do they (NC) have any conscious? The fact is that they only appear during elections at the public places to seek votes and disappear after being electing to assembly. I am not among them, our leader Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has a mission to serve people and you (People) have to provide us that opportunity,” he said.

He added that in upcoming assembly, the PDP would form its next government with absolute majority. “PDP will not be in need of any post alliance. We will form our own government and the people will see the change on ground. The corruption has to go as PDP is coming to form the government. There will be accountability,” he said.He said that officials would be made accountable, freedom of press, right to live with honour and dignity and right to livelihood would be put into force.“PDP members in assembly will not act as babus and ministers but we would be serving people at large irrespective of caste, creed, color and religion,” Aalam added.Referring to Omar Abdullah’s offer to BJP for a post-poll alliance, Aalam said the NC can align even with devil to keep PDP out of power, not to speak of BJP with which it has had an alliance in the past as well.
