Hundreds of youth Thursday evening attacked police station Nowhatta with stones in Old City of Srinagar district.Official sources told GNS that hundreds of youth took to streets and staged massive anti-Israeli protests in wake of country’s onslaught against Palestinians.They cornered the police station from all most all sides and started pelting stones on it heavily”, they said, adding that the protesting youth also tried to set the police station on fire.The policemen who were deployed outside the police station to maintain law and order rushed inside the police station following the stone pelting attacks on it, they said, adding that the policemen exercised maximum restraint.However, as the situation took an ugly turn, the cops inside the police station opened fire in air to disperse the mob.During the pelting, a Tata 407 Police Vehicle got damaged, besides it, the windowpanes of the building got also damaged due to heavy stone pelting, they said.
