The Punjab government is committed to the welfare of Ex-servicemen, war widows and their dependents and would ensure that they will not get any problem in earning their livelihood. It was disclosed by Bibi Jagir Kaur, Minister for Defence Services Welfare, Punjab while presiding over a meeting of the five newly appointed officers of Ex-servicemen body. She said that the government would also ensure that the families of defence personal would not face any difficulty in getting their work done in the govt. offices.

Minister said that ex-servicemen, war widows and their dependents were facing problems in the in the district level offices due to scarcity of officers. She said that the department is shortly recruiting new officers at the district level so that the day to day work could not suffer. She said that the recruitment process of six another officers is on the anvil.

Minister said that the Punjab Government is dedicated for the rehabilitatation of the families of ex-servicemen. The prominent amongst others present included Mr. C. Raul, Principal Secretary, Mr. Manjeet Singh, Brigadier (Retired), Director Defence Welfare and Mr. Gurinderjeet Singh Gill, Lt. Colonel (Retd.), Mr. Rajwant Singh, Wing Commander (Retd.), Mr. Sukhjeet Singh Dhaliwal, Lt. Colonel (Retd.), Mr. S.S. Sangha, Colonel (Retd.) and Mr. Amarveer Singh Chahal, Colonel (Retd.) (all newly appointed officers).
