20th Abhilashi Him Gold Cup Hockey Tournament 2014 concluded at Solan Today. Governor, Urmila Singh presided over the concluded ceremony held in Thodo Ground and distributed the prizes to winners and other teams. Urmila Singh while addressing the concluding ceremony congratulated the players and said that sports teaches us the art of balance and helps in overall development of players.Governor exhorted the youth to take part in some kind of sports activities. She said that women were coming forward in every sphere and they had also carved a niche for themselves in the sports arena. She said that girls should be motivated to take part in sport activities from the early childhood. Urmila Singh also honoured all the players, coach and manager of Pakistani team.Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of Him Gold Hockey Association Solan Shri Madan Chauhan honoured the Governor. UP XI won the final match by defeating Haryana 3-1. Vice President of the Association Shri Lokinder Chauhan, Executive Director, Hockey India Shri R.K. Shrivastava and other office bearers of the Association also present on the occasion.
