Rural Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Irrigation Minister Sukhbinder Singh Suk Sarkaria today said that the ongoing work of plugging the breaches on Dhussi bandh over the river Satluj would be accomplished at the earliest.Both the Ministers, who reviewed the ongoing work of plugging the breach at village Jania by the Indian Army, said that the breaches on Satluj in the Phillaur Sub Division would be plugged within two days adding that the work of plugging the breaches in Shahkot Sub Division was also going on in full swing. They said that the entire work would be completed every soon as the state government has already pumped in all the resources to ensure that this mammoth task was completed at the earliest. Both the Ministers said that the state government led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was committed to bail out the people of the marooned villages at every cost.The Ministers said that the state government was already carrying out a major relief operation to assure that people do not face any sort of problem. They said that relevant arrangements regarding food, medical teams for people and fodder for animals has already been made. Likewise, both the Ministers said that teams of Army, NDRF and SDRF have already been deployed, along with the district Police and Civil administration, to extend a helping hand to people.Earlier, MLA Mr. Hardev Singh Laddi, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr Navjot Singh Mahal apprised the Ministers about the entire situation in wake of floods. They also informed the Ministers about relief measures being carried out by district administration.
