More pesticides content will affect export of farm produce: Acharaya Devvrat

Governor Acharaya Devvrat on the valedictory function of Agri & Food Technology fair, at Chandigarh today said that contents of pesticides in food products decide the quantum and price of agri products. Presence of pesticides in excess leads to rejection by the importing country. He said indiscriminate use of fertilizers and pesticides needs to be checked which is possible only through natural farming.He said that income of farmer could be considerably increased and doubled provided inputs to agriculture were largely reduced and replaced by natural farming. It will enrich the soil with carbon contents and generate natural nutrients to crops.He said technology is good but it should be within reach of the farmers and without any burden to farmers. He said that 25 percent increase in paddy production was achieved in the farmers at Kurukshetra with inputs of natural farming.Rajinder Singh, Minister for Rural Development Punjab also stressed the need for affordable technology to farmers.Sadrit Jain, Chairman C.I.I. welcomed the chief guest while Deputy Chairman Sameer Gupta thanked the Governor.Lady Governor Darshana Devi was also present on this occasion.
